NEVER leave your baby alone in the bath. These words are written time and time again, but still every couple of months you will read in the paper that another child has got into trouble in the bath. ‘But I only left him for a minute’ is the phrase that comes to mind. If you have to answer the phone, fetch a towel or deal with an older child, take baby out of the bath first. Get everything you need to hand before you start.

NEVER leave your baby alone in the bath – and remember, this message applies to any water, anywhere within baby’s reach, even if only an inch deep.
